Our Unique Approach to Employee Recruitment and Retention

Professional Businessman Highlighting Employee Recruitment - MSCP Heat Management Solutions

Most business leaders understand that for a company to be successful, they need to have great employee recruitment and find unique ways to retain them. To accomplish this, companies must provide their employees with a rewarding career that includes extensive training and mentorship that elevates their skills and drives career progression.

At MSCP, we recognize how crucial ongoing employee education is to our customers’ continued success. Our ability to pass industry knowledge, project experience, and technical skills from existing employees to new recruits helps us develop future leaders who will carry MSCP long into the future.

Our approach to this is two fold: provide the best talent with opportunities to consider a career with MSCP, and once hired, provide comprehensive training for trade workers through our MSCP HMS school.

Employee Recruitment And Mentoring Young Workers

Engaging with the next generation of Heat Trace Specialists is paramount to our industry’s sustainable growth. That’s why MSCP has taken the lead in introducing heat management in the oil and gas industry as a rewarding, challenging career with almost unlimited growth potential.

Today’s young workers have certain expectations of the companies they choose to work for, such as diversity, equitable pay, and opportunities for skills development. They also want to feel like stakeholders in decision-making and use their tech capabilities to solve problems.

The good news is that MSCP meets all the criteria new workers expect. We’re proud to be leaders in our industry by focusing on creating a progressive work environment that brings out the best in our employees.

We help communicate the benefits of working for MSCP in three unique ways:

Campus Recruiting Initiatives

MSCP’s Leadership regularly appears at local trade schools, including the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology (NAIT) and Southern Alberta Institute of Technology (SAIT). Our goal is to present MSCP’s innovative Heat Management Solution model to students, conduct Q&A sessions, and provide information on careers in heat management.

New trades graduates ready to hit the ground running are welcome to apply for apprenticeship opportunities at MSCP. Our leadership understands the value of starting a trades career on solid footing. Apprenticing with our company is one of the best ways to get real-world experience quickly and with high-value support.

MSCP’s Summer Jobs Program

For students looking to explore work in the trades industry over the summer break, MSCP offers employee recruitment through the Canada Summer Jobs Program. This program provides opportunities in all departments, including engineering, administration, procurement, logistics, business development, and manufacturing.

MSCP School – Ongoing Training For Service Excellence

Our in-house MSCP HMS School is the industry’s most complete training program focused on Heat Management (Electrical Heat Trace and Insulation). MSCP school ensures that all employees operate on the same level, enhancing our ability to provide an optimal service experience to our customers.

Our dedicated training courses provide hands-on information and expert guidance on installing, operating, and maintaining heat management systems (HMS) products and systems. MSCP’s in-house industry experts provide training in all relevant application areas such as maintenance, engineering, and construction, ensuring low variation in the outcomes of our work in each area.

The school is designed to be completed in four steps that lead our employees through increasing levels of expertise in Heat Management Systems.

  • Heat Management Specialist Level 1: Introduction to Heat Management Systems, including information on Electrical Heat Tracing (EHT) and Insulation used in industrial applications and safety information on the hazards of working with such materials
  • Heat Management Specialist Level 2: Installation of Heat Management Systems, where our specialists install and perform quality checks on EHT and Insulation installations
  • Heat Management Specialist Level 3: Programming, Troubleshooting, and Maintenance of EHT, which takes it to the next level, working on the ability to identify issues, repair problems, and program controls that ensure the operability of HMS
  • Heat Management Specialist Level 4: Design and Engineering of Heat Management Systems, establishes the skills required to assist in and complete proper HMS designs that work for complex installations in the field

Employees enrolled in MSCP School must complete both written and practical examinations to move forward to the next level. Progress in our programs is also linked to a minimum number of working hours in the relevant field. Testing records are open for auditing by our clients for complete openness and transparency.
